Need the 411 on Coupon Jargon?



Are you new to the wonderful world of coupons? You might be a little overwhelmed at first, but do not be discouraged. Below is a list of commonly used coupon jargon to help you navigate your way through the world of coupons. 

Sunday Newspaper Insert Abbreviations:
RP = Redplum
SS = Smart Source
GM = General Mills
PG = Proctor & Gamble

*FYI...The date of the insert is usually in very small print on the spine of the insert. 

Walgreens & CVS Jargon:
RR = Register Reward (Walgreens Money)
ECP = Extra Care Bucks (CVS Money)
IVC = Instant Value Coupon (Found in the monthly EasySaver Booklet produced by Walgreens)
WAGS = Walgreens

Other Commonly Used Abrreviations and Money-Saving Terms:
BOGO or B1G1 = Buy One, Get One Free
B2G1 = Buy Two, Get One Free
GC = Gift Card
IP = Internet Printable
MC or MQ = Manufacturer Coupon
FAR = Free After Rebate
X = Expires On
DND = Do Not Double
FILLER = An Item Purchased to reach a minimum total in order to take advantage of a deal.
NED = No Expiration Date
OOP = Out of Pocket
TMF = Try Me Free
UPC = Universal Product Code
AR = After Rebate
CC = Credit Card
EXP = Expired Coupon or Deal
MFG or MFR = Manufacturer
OOS = Out of Stock
CSR = Customer Service Representative
CPN = Coupon
SASE = Self Addressed Stamped Envelope
S/H = Shipping & Handling

*NOTE* 1/$1- Means one coupon (or one product) at a dollar off. Numbers will change, but that’s the essence.
